Update on French competition investigation

In view of the proposed combination announced this morning between Vedior and Randstad, and following the receipt of a Statement of Objections from the French Competition Council relating to the alleged infringement of French Competition Laws, Vedior has undertaken further analysis on the potential implications of the investigation.

A Statement of Objections is a legal step in proceedings under French anti-trust law and the investigation and communication with the French Authorities continues. The Statement of Objections does not prejudge the outcome of the matter. Details regarding this Statement of Objections cannot be revealed owing to restrictions under French law.

By the very nature of such investigations, there can be no assurance that the resolution of this matter will not have a significant adverse effect on the Vedior Group. However, following the receipt of advice on the level of fines imposed by the French Competition Council in similar cases in the past, Vedior does not believe any resulting fine would be significant for the consolidated financial position of the Vedior Group.

Vedior will refrain from further comments at this stage. We will update the market as and when appropriate. Further information regarding this issue can be found in our media release dated 30 November 2004 and page 76 of our 2006 Annual Report.
